Block calendar for upcoming titles

The content plan may contain titles that are not yet available in the Content Manager. Placeholders can be used in the calendar to reserve the space for such titles. You can replace placeholders with actual titles once the content becomes available in the content manager.

Create Placeholders

Placeholders can be created in both the Week View and the Day View calendars.

Week View

1. Navigate to the date and time when the calendar needs to be blocked. For example, choose Friday 21st, 1:30 p.m. for 30 minutes.
2. Double-click to create a placeholder. Alternatively, right-click on the selected slot and select “+ Placeholder” from the right-click menu. The Placeholder widget pops up.
3. Enter the details in the Create Placeholder window such as the Title, Duration, Start Time, and Start Date for blocking the calendar.  
4. (Optional) To create multiple placeholders, enter an end date by choosing Assign End Date. Multiple placeholders will be created between the start and end dates at the given time. 
5. Click the Schedule button.  

You can view and verify the placeholder in the calendar.

Day View

1. Navigate to the date and time when you want to block a period of time for a title that is upcoming.
2. Double-click to create a placeholder. Alternatively, right-click on the selected slot and select “+ Placeholder” from the right-click menu.
3. Enter the details in the Create Placeholder window such as the Title, Duration, Start Time, and Start Date.
4. If the Asset ID is specified while creating a placeholder, the placeholder appears in Content Manager.
5. (Optional) To create multiple placeholders, enter an end date by choosing Assign End Date. Multiple placeholders will be created between the start and end dates at that given time. 
6. Click on the Schedule button.

You can view the placeholder in the calendar. The program card for Placeholder is indicated in a blue dotted line. Hover over the placeholder to view details and confirm that the Placeholder is created as desired.  

Replace the Placeholder with the title

The placeholders can be replaced with other programs by dragging and dropping the title from the Content Manager onto the placeholder. The planner will schedule the program and remove the placeholder.
