Let's schedule a movie such that once scheduled, the movie will occupy a slot of fixed duration slot that you have defined while scheduling. The scheduled program might contain the movie, ad media, and fillers. The ad media and fillers will be scheduled automatically using ad automation.
To schedule a non episodic program (movie) of fixed duration, follow the below steps:
Ensure that the scheduling date is visible in the scheduling calendar.
Locate the movie to be scheduled from the content manager, and drag it to the scheduled start date and time in the scheduling calendar.
Configure the Schedule Media window that is displayed on the right pane of the PLANNER application.
Choose the target duration as Fixed and define the duration.
Ensure that the Start time and Scheduling Date chosen in the Schedule Media window matches the movie’s start date and start time.
Click Schedule to complete the scheduling.
Note: The program will be successfully scheduled if no conflict is found on the calendar while scheduling. If conflict is found, then check out one of the following sections based on your business requirement to resolve the conflict.
Schedule a program by shifting the current and upcoming schedules down during an overlap
Replace all episodes of a scheduled series with a new series
Once done, view the movie scheduled on the scheduling calendar to verify if the scheduling is completed successfully. Also, you can verify the schedule details on the Program Details window or on the program hovercard.
Note: If no ad media is scheduled, verify the ad automation rule.
Since the fixed block has a duration of 1 hour (01:00:00:00) and the asset run time is of 22 minutes, a hole will be created in the remaining space in the block. You need to schedule fillers in the hole to fill the block completely.
