Replace all episodes of a scheduled series with a new series

At times, due to changes in the content planning, a need might arise to schedule a series at a timeslot where another series is already scheduled. Deleting the existing series from the schedule and rescheduling with a different series would be operationally heavy. PLANNER resolves this issue by replacing the existing series with a new series that need to be scheduled. 

To replace all episodes of a series with new programs, follow the below steps:

1. Locate the replacement/new series from the content manager and drag it just above the existing series that needs to be replaced.

2.  In the Schedule Media window, manually provide the start time of the replacement/new series. 

3. Click SCHEDULE.While scheduling, if any or all of the episodes in the new schedule overlaps with the existing schedule, the system will not be able to schedule the complete series and throws a Scheduling Conflict(s) Found! message. 

4. To resolve the conflict, click the Overwrite current schedule to proceed check box.

5. Click SCHEDULE.

Once done, the conflicting episodes in the existing schedule will be successfully replaced with the episodes in the new schedule.

Limitation: Currently, replacing the series via overwriting the current schedule is possible only if there is some empty space above or below the existing schedule (schedule that needs to be replaced).
