Let’s schedule a series such that once scheduled, 4 episodes of the series will play back to back on the same day until the series ends. Each episode occupies a slot of fixed duration that is defined while scheduling. The scheduled program can contain episodes, ad media, or fillers. The ad media and fillers will be scheduled automatically as per the ad automation rule.

  1. Ensure that the  scheduling date is visible in the scheduling calendar.

  2. Locate the series to be scheduled from the content manager, and drag it to the scheduled start date and time in the scheduling calendar.

  3. Configure the Schedule Media window that is displayed on the right pane of the PLANNER page.

    1. Ensure that the first episode in the series is chosen as the Start asset
This ensures that all episodes in this series will get scheduled on the chosen dates.

    2. Choose the target duration as Fixed, and define the duration.

    3. Choose the Programs/Day as 4.

    4. Keep the Play back to back toggle switch in the enabled state (selected by default).

    5. Ensure that the Start time chosen in the Schedule Media window matches the programs’ start time.

  • Choose the Schedule Pattern per your requirement. For example, choose Daily if episodes need to be scheduled daily or choose any other specific pattern.

  • Ensure that the Scheduling Date chosen in the Schedule Media window matches the start date of the first episode in the series.

  1. Click Schedule to complete the scheduling of the series.

Note: The program will be successfully scheduled if no conflict is found on the calendar while scheduling.  If conflict is found, check out the below section for resolution.

Once done, view the episodes scheduled on the scheduling calendar to verify if the scheduling is completed successfully. Verify the schedule details on the Program Details window or on the program hovercard.

Note: If no ad media is scheduled, verify the ad automation rule.
