Let’s schedule a series such that once scheduled, each episode in the series will start at the same time every day until the series ends. Each episode occupies a slot of duration equal to the sum of the respective episodic assets’ duration and the ad break duration. The ad media will be scheduled automatically using ad automation.
Ensure that the scheduling date is visible in the scheduling calendar.
Locate the series to be scheduled from the content manager, and drag it to the scheduled start date and time in the scheduling calendar.
Configure the Schedule Media window that is displayed on the right pane of the PLANNER application.
Ensure that the first episode in the series is chosen as the Start asset.
This ensures that all episodes in this series will get scheduled on the chosen dates.Keep the target duration as Flexible (selected by default).
Keep the Programs/Day as 1 (selected by default).
Ensure that the Start time chosen in the Schedule Media window matches the start time of the first episode in the series.
Choose the Schedule Pattern per your requirement. For example, choose Daily if episodes need to be scheduled daily or choose any other specific pattern.
Ensure that the Scheduling Date chosen in the Schedule Media window matches the start date of the first episode in the series.
Click Schedule to complete the scheduling of the series.
Note: The program will be successfully scheduled if no conflict is found on the calendar while scheduling. If conflict is found, check out the below section for resolution.
Once done, view the episodes scheduled on the scheduling calendar to verify if the scheduling is completed successfully. You can verify the schedule details of each individual asset in the series on the program hovercard or on the Program Details window.
Note: If no ad media is scheduled, verify the ad automation rule.
