Using the Ad automation engine, you can set up a rule to insert a bumper, an ad slate, and another bumper in all in-roll breaks of a program.
- Click the Ad Automation link on the top-right side of the PLANNER application.
- In the Ad Automation pane, create a new rule or choose one you wish to update.
- Set the Filter assets to define the assets for which the rule is to be applied. Choose from the dropdown to filter titles and apply the rule to the desired titles.
- Leave the default settings in the Flight duration as it is. This ensures the rule will be applied to all the schedules starting from the current date.
- Provide the Ad break pattern. Here you need to specify the Bumper, Ad slate, and Bumper pattern. To do this, follow the below steps.
- Select All ad-breaks from the Apply to list.
- Configure the bumper as the first media in the ad break. To do this,
- Set the Ad media type as Bumper from the dropdown list.
- Select the Ad spot as Single.
- Provide the duration range of the ad media (minimum and maximum duration).
Note: One title of ad media type Bumper will be picked from the pool of assets and scheduled in the ad break.
- Click the ADD MORE link to configure another ad media. In this case, you will configure the ad slate.
- To configure the ad slate, repeat the steps in Step b. Here, select Media as the Ad media type.
- Click the ADD MORE link to configure another bumper as the third ad media after the ad slate. To achieve this, follow the exact steps used to schedule the first bumper. Refer to Step b.
- Click SAVE to save the rule.
- Use the left pane of the Ad automation window to assign the priority.
Schedule a title with segments that match the Filter assets criteria in this rule. View and verify that the ad breaks are inserted with a bumper, ad slate media, and another bumper.
