A broadcast day can be divided into two or more day parts. For example, day part for peak hours (7 pm to 11 pm) and day part for non-peak hours (rest of the day). As per the content planning, each day part can have a different ad break pattern, and multiple rules can be created for each day part.
To configure a new ad automation rule for auto scheduling a promo, an ad slate, and a bumper after every asset segment during peak hours, follow the below steps:
Click the Ad Automation label on the top-right side of the PLANNER application.
In the Ad Automation pane, provide a rule name that helps you identify, prioritize, and update the ad automation rule when multiple rules are available.
Note: You can choose a different asset duration per your requirement or choose any other filters such as Asset Type, No. of Segments, etc.
Filter assets by Asset Duration → Greater than (>) → <required asset duration>. This ensures that the rule will be applied to all assets having a duration greater than the specified time duration. In this case, 1 minute is taken as an example.
Note: You can choose a different asset duration per your requirement or choose any other filters such as Asset Type, No. of Segments, etc.
Leave the default settings in the Flight duration as it is except the All day checkbox. Clear the All Day checkbox, and define the channel peak hours, for example, 7.00 PM to 11.00 PM.
Provide the Ad break pattern.
Select the All ad breaks option from the Apply to list so that the ad break pattern will be applied to all ad breaks available in the asset.
Configure a promo at the start of every ad break by following one of the below options:
Option 1: Schedule assets from the content manager
Select the Ad media type as Asset(s).
Locate the required media corresponding to the ad slate from the content manager and drag it to the box displayed below Asset(s).
Option 2: Keep the ad spot as Single
Select a media type corresponding to the promo from the Ad media type.
Select the Ad spot as Single
Provide the duration range of the ad media (minimum and maximum duration).
Note: One asset from the pool of assets belonging to the ad media type will be picked and scheduled in the ad break.
Click the ADD MORE link to configure another ad media.
Follow one of the below options to configure ad slate as the second ad media after promo:

Locate the required media corresponding to the ad slate from the content manager and drag it to the box displayed below Asset(s).
