This article will guide you to create and manage an Automatic Curation Collection in Amagi Planner.
Create Automatic Collection
To create an automatic collection,
- Select the Media tab in the CONTENT MANAGER pane.
- Filter the titles in the Content Manager by applying one or more filters. Press Ctrl (Windows) or Command (Mac), and select the required titles from the Filter results, using which you want to build the master collection.
- Locate and click the + NEW COLLECTION widget with your selected titles to build a new master collection.
- In the New Collection window that appears, leave the collection type unchanged. It is set to Automatic curation by default.
- Provide a name for your collection in the designated field and select the required tags.
- In the Assets tab, you can see all the titles you have chosen for your master collection. You can add more titles to the master collection, delete the unwanted assets, or reorder them as needed.
- (Optional Step) If you have specific series, season, and episode metadata details, you can enter them under the Metadata tab. You can also provide these details at the time of scheduling the program.
- Move to the Rules tab and define asset order and pin rule according to your requirements.
- Choose the Asset Order as Shuffle to randomise the order of titles played. Set the Asset Order to Sequence to play the titles in the sequence they appear in the collection.
- Set the Pin rule for playing specific titles at specific positions when the collection is scheduled. Skip ahead to learn how to pin assets.
- Click the 'CREATE COLLECTION' button to create a collection.
You can view the newly built automatic curation collection in the Collection tab of Content Manager and labeled as MASTER.
Pin Assets
You can choose to play a title at a specific location or order in the program while scheduling. To do this, pin the title to a specific location.
- In the Pin Rule section of the Rules tab, click ADD PIN.
- From the Content Manager pane, locate the title you want to pin and drag & drop it to the box labeled Drag & drop assets from the Content Manager.
- Choose the position where you want to pin the asset.
Note
You can only pin one asset at a time.
Later, when you schedule a program using this collection, the pinned assets retain their position irrespective of the Asset Order (sequence/shuffle) chosen while building the master collection. For example, consider that a bumper is pinned at the top and a commercial at the bottom of the master collection. When a program is scheduled using this collection, the program always starts with a bumper and ends with a commercial. All other assets in the program will be arranged in the Asset Order chosen while building the master collection.
Edit Collections
You can also edit (add, remove, or reorder assets) an already available collection.
- Locate the collection you wish to edit in the Collection tab and click on it to open the Collection Details window.
- In the Collection Details window, you can see an overview of the collection's content and information.
Add Assets
- In the Content Manager, locate and select the title you want to include in the collection.
- Drag them to the Drag & drop Media box in the Assets tab.
Remove Assets
To remove or delete an unwanted asset, click the Delete icon () located on the right side of the asset.
Reorder Assets
To change the order of assets, drag the required asset and move it upwards or downwards.
- Click on the Next button to proceed to the next step.
- Click the Update Collection button to save the changes.
- After updating, you can verify the details by reopening the collection details tab.
Note To update a collection that has been previously scheduled, duplicate the collection and then update the duplicated version. You can use this version to schedule further.
Delete Collections
To delete a collection, right-click on the collection in the Content Manager and select Delete from the right-click menu. A popup appears to confirm the deletion. You can archive the collection instead of permanently deleting it.
Archive Collections
To archive a collection, right-click on the collection in the Content Manager and select Archive from the right-click menu.
