To ensure uninterrupted entertainment and binge-watching of scheduled programs, you can skip the ads that play at the end of the program. When you skip the last ad break in a program, the following program plays immediately at the end of the primary content.
First, set up an Ad Automation Rule using the following steps:
- Create an ad automation rule.
- Set the Filter assets to define the assets to which the rule is applied. Choose from the dropdown to filter titles and apply the rule to the desired titles.
- Leave the default settings in the Flight duration as-is. This ensures the rule is applied to all the schedules starting from the current date.
- Scroll down to the Ad break pattern pane and provide the Ad break pattern to first define all the ad breaks and then skip the desired break(s).
- Select All ad-breaks from the Apply to list.
- Configure an ad slate on every ad break by following one of the options below:
- Select the Ad media type for the drop-down list.
- Select the Ad spot as Single or Multiple.
- Provide the Duration range of the ad media (minimum and maximum duration).
Note One or more titles (depending on if the Ad spot is configured as Single or Mulitple) from the pool of assets belonging to the Ad media type is picked and scheduled in all the ad breaks.
c. Click the plus icon on the right of the Apply to list to add one more Ad break pattern. You will now define the rule to skip the last ad break.
To skip the last Ad break for a rule
- In the Apply to dropdown box, click Select ad-breaks and select the Last Ad checkbox.
- Select Ad media type from the dropdown list. Set Ad Spot to Single. Enter a Duration value in the range of 00:00 to 00:00 seconds. This pattern sets the ad duration to 0 seconds for a single ad spot. This results in no ads being inserted; in other words, the ad break is skipped.
- Click SAVE to save the ad rule.
Prioritise the rule by placing it appropriately on the left pane and ensure the rule is applied. Schedule a title so that the Ad rule is applicable. View and verify the scheduled program to check if the last ad break is skipped as defined in the rule.
