Publish Playlist or EPG

Created by C-Seema Albal, Modified on Tue, Oct 3, 2023 at 12:19 PM by C-Seema Albal

From the schedules created on Amagi PLANNER, you can publish the playlist to Amagi CLOUDPORT or Amagi NOW. Further, you can download the Playlist in the form of a CSV to upload to any other playout .

The PLANNER also delivers an Electronic Program Guide(EPG) automatically. Please connect with support@amagi.com to help you with the configuration to deliver the EPG directly from the PLANNER. If your schedule contains collections whose metadata or attributes have been added manually, it is recommended you publish the EPG from the Amagi PLANNER.

Publish a Playlist

  • After you finalise the schedule, click on the PUBLISH button within the Amagi PLANNER tool.

  • A Publish widget appears on the screen, providing options for publishing the playlist and generating an EPG.

  • In the Publish widget, choose the specific dates for which you want to publish the playlist. Click the PUBLISH button.

  • The playlist is published and is available in Amagi CLOUDPORT or Amagi NOW as a new version of the Playlist.

Generate an EPG

  1. Once you finalize the schedule, click on the PUBLISH button within the Amagi PLANNER tool.

  2. A Publish widget appears on the screen, providing options for publishing the playlist and generating an EPG.

  3. Check the EPG checkbox within the Publish widget.

  4. Click on the PUBLISH button.

  5. Both the Playlist and the EPG will be published for the specified dates.

Download the Playlist as a CSV file

  1. Once you finalize the schedule, click on the PUBLISH button within the Amagi PLANNER tool.

  2. To download the Playlist in a CSV file format, click on the download icon within the Publish widget.

  3. The exported .csv file contains the schedule information along with SOM(Start of Media).

Note
- Every time a Playlist is sent to the CLOUDPORT, a new version of the playlist for a particular day is created. This helps in ensuring that the current playlist is not edited in any form.
- Changes made to the Playlist in CLOUDPORT are not reflected in the PLANNER.

Publish to a playlist creates new versions of the Playlist in the playout system. You can further validate or use your discretion to publish them in the playout.
