How does the system validate my schedule if the schedule has expired assets

Expired assets refer to the assets that are out-of-date, or no longer useful when scheduled.

Once the asset scheduling is done, PLANNER validates whether the schedule has expired assets by checking the license rights (content rights) defined for the asset. If violations are found in the licensing rights, the PLANNER throws an error as a red dot on the top-right corner of the program card. This warns the scheduler that the licensing dates are outside the time span agreed between the channel owner and the content owner.

For example, if the license rights for the asset are available only for the months of January and February, 2022, and if the scheduler tries to schedule it for the month of March, 2022, an error will be thrown.

Note: The scheduler will be alerted only if any violations are found in the asset’s license rights. Also, all the schedules with license rights violations will not be published in the playlist and will create holes.

If the license rights of the asset are violated, you can view the details in the program card, Program Details window, and the notification pane.

Program card

  1. A red dot is displayed on the top-right corner of the Program card to indicate that the license right of the asset used in the scheduled program is violated. Hover anywhere on the program card to display an asset information pane. Look at the bottom of the pane to view the asset’s license right violation details.

Note: If no license violation details are displayed on the pane, it means that the license right is not violated for that asset.

Program Details pane

  1. Click the title of the program/episode to display the Program Details pane.

  2. In the Program Details pane, at the bottom left side, click the down arrow adjacent to Rights & Frequency violations to view the asset’s license rights violation details.

Note: If Rights & Frequency violations drop down is not displayed in the Program Details pane, it means that the license right is not violated for that asset.

Notification pane

  1. Click the red colored notification icon on the right side of the Day/Week view.

  2. In the Alert & Violation pane, the list of all assets whose license date is violated is displayed in the format: License rights violated for episode <program name > from <license start date> to <license end date> (L). The label (L) indicates that the violation is related to the license right.

  3. Click the required entry to navigate to the exact location of the respective programs (highlighted in blue color) whose license rights are violated.
