Rights management is the management of legal access to digital content. When the channel owner purchases the content from the content owner, a legal contract will be signed between both parties that grant usage rights to the channel owner. The most important among these rights comprise the licensing rights, frequency capping, and the geographical locations in which this content can be used. Frequency capping can be tracked for a channel or across all channels

Rights management helps analyze the performance of an asset based on the asset’s licencing dates and scheduling frequency. If the assets are scheduled outside of the licencing dates or scheduled more often than the allowed frequency capping, then alerts are shown in the scheduled programs to warn the scheduler about the violations.

Rights management helps content owners to:

  • Fulfil the availability of assets based on time, location, and business rules

  • Maximize content usage

  • Avoids violations
