What is ad automation?
Ad automation is a rule-based engine that automatically schedules ad media inside the ad break.
It helps eliminate the mundane and time consuming task of manually inserting ad media inside the ad breaks of the media you want to schedule. An ad media can be scheduled before the program starts, after the program ends, or after each asset segment in the program.
How ad automation works
The ad automation workflow is depicted below.
Step 1 - Create the ad automation rule by defining the following conditions in the Ad Automation window:
Assets on which you want to apply the ad automation rule.
Time duration for which you want to apply the ad automation rule to the scheduled media (Flight duration).
Details of ad media you want to schedule inside the ad breaks
Note: You can create multiple ad automation rules and prioritize them per your requirements.
Step 2 - Schedule the assets.
Once done, from the available list of ad automation rules, which one to be applied on a scheduled media depends on the following conditions:
Closest match of the scheduled media with the asset specified in the ad automation window through filter conditions.
Flight duration of the scheduled asset.
Type of ad media defined to be scheduled inside the ad breaks.
Priority of the ad automation rule.
Note: The ad automation rule will only be applied to the media scheduled after creating the rule and not to previously scheduled media.
The programs scheduled in the scheduling calendar comprise both the scheduled assets and the ad media. You can view the details of the program in the Program Details window.
